Three Hawks

Recently, I have been reading Corrie Ten Boom's book, "Tramp for the Lord." It has been very inspiring. As I read one of the chapters (chapter 25), Ms.Corrie talked about losing her first love and how she repented of trying to make her own plans. It challenged me and I realized that I had so often done the same things. For too often do I try to make my own plans. I asked for forgiveness for not sharing God's Word with people that I should have, losing sight of my first love, and trying to take pride in my earthly actions (which amount to nothing). The amazing thing is, is that God forgives, because of Jesus, and right when I said that prayer, He forgave me of my sins.
While I was praying I saw one hawk fly down and land on a fence post in our backyard (I was reading on the porch). I was watching this hawk, seeing how beautiful he was and technically without flaw compared to me. He didn't cary stress in his shoulders or worry in his veins, he just flew, trusting the God who made him. As I was watching this one hawk, he flew to another fence post. As he flew, another hawk just like him flew behind him and landed in a tree. Seeing two identical hawks made me figure that they were mates but as they were looking at each other, I saw one more hawk (this one a little smaller) fly into the tree behind them. This smaller hawk landed, they all looked/communicated with each other, then they all flew in different directions.
Watching these hawks reminded me of the Trinity. They are all different birds, they flew in different directions, but they communicated the same way. They had different characteristics (if I would have looked closer) yet they were the same type of bird. And it all hit me when they flew in different directions. They had different goals to accomplish, different plans for the rest of the day, but they came together to communicate. They were on the same level, their core beliefs and love was the same. It so reminded me perfectly of the Trinity: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit.
How amazing is it that we serve a God who is able to become so real and show himself to us in so many different ways. I am thankful for that. And I hope that you know the Jesus I serve because He is beyond amazing!
"Does the hawk take flight by your wisdom and spread its wings toward the south?" -Job 39:26
