He's Still Writing

Recently, I have felt the pull to start blogging again. Over the past days, I have waited for the Lord to give me something to tell the church and last night the download commenced.
Late last night, I was feeling overwhelmed with everything going on around me, a dream that I had, and just the worries of life. These things
are so normal and they overwhelm everybody but I have a source of water to run to when I am thirsty, and you do too. So I went into my room and laid on the floor as one casually does when overwhelmed. I just began to cry out to Jesus, asking Him for direction and clarity. Are we meant to move? Are we not doing "enough?" What should I even be praying about when there is SO much to pray about?
After praying, I got up and grabbed my guitar and began to sing my heart. And weep. He was just so present and I remembered all the times where He has held my hand in hard places. I remembered that He is right beside me and
goes before me. Then I saw this image, the one that I drew and is attatched to this blog. And I just realized "He is still writing!"
This revelation immediately filled me with hope! There is so much bad. Like SO MUCH! I get it. Sometimes, like what happens to me, He will give prophetic dreams of something scary that is going to happen and a time line. It is really easy to get freaked out in those moments. But once I realized that He is still writing, it just brought so much peace to my life.
I realized that even though the dream was really rocking and life is really scary, that this part in the story is not how we want it to end, the Author is not done writing! The book isn't over, this is not the end, that dream is not the last I will have. And just like Abraham talked with God and got Him to change His mind over destroying Sodom and Gommorah before getting the five righteous out, we also can talk with Him the same way.
Your prayers are powerful. They change the endings of stories! Jonah, even though he struggled obeying God, saw the wickedness of Ninevah. He thought they were done for and even wanted them to be destroyed. Yet, GOD in all His goodness sent repentance to their hearts! Sometimes we see a situation in the natural and think the worst, and even speak it into existence. When God has actually called us to call out the opposite! He wants to use us to bring His message and repentance. We are powerful people, He made us that way with intent. We are fearfully and wonderfully made to be powerful.
Another story, think about Joseph. He was in Egypt, as a slave, and Pharaoh had a prophetic dream which could easily have brought him fear. Joseph had the opportunity to forebode, freaking out about what would happen to his family, himself, his nation. Yet, he chose to see what God was doing and plan accordingly in faith. As a result, he helped to save the nation of Egypt and Israel! The famine was not the end of the story, because the Author sent the pillar of Joseph to reveal His plan, protect His people and work with Him.
In the end, what we can take away is that we are powerful people! God wants us to partner with Him! And God wants us to pray for His nations. If there is something the Lord has shown you that scares you, pray into it. Are you to partner with God in saving His people or are you to partner with Jesus in interceding to change circumstances?
In all of these stories, God gave revelation and direction to His people so they could partner with Him to bring His kingdom to earth. And that is exactly what He wants to do in our lives today, partner with us to bring His kingdom here!
I challenge you to take a couple moments, ask God to show you an area of life that brings you anxiety and let Him tell you if He wants you to pray for a change or help those in the crisis. If there is no area in your life that brings you anxiety, ask Him to show you how powerful you are with Him! And what situations you have impacted with prayers over the years, you might be surprised. Overall, He has you! And the Author is not done writing. If it's not good, its not the end.
"Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me." Psalms 23:4 (NASB)
"Is anyone among you suffering? Then he must pray. Is anyone cheerful? He is to sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? Then he must call for the elders of the church and they are to pray over him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer of faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him. Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. A prayer of a righteous person, when it is brought about, can accomplish much. Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months. Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit." James 5:13-18
