Talks With God...

Tonight on my way home from church, I was stuck behind a super slow truck. I was thinking about passing him... then the Lord spoke to me. That gentle, still voice told me to stay where I am at, behind this slow and old car. I was so confused, asking why would you want me to go 40 in a 55? I just heard him say, "Who told you that 40 was bad?" I sounds like a simple question but it left me speechless, so I decided to stay behind this slow vehicle. Then I heard the Lord say, "While you are waiting, remind yourself who I am." I just said okay.
All the way home, a thirty minute drive, I was telling God who He was. "Protector, lover, father, friend, hope, light, merciful, graceful, grace giver, giver of confidence, beautifully complex, never-ending, alive, the word, steadfast, never-changing...." the list could go on. I was coming up with about a word per thirty seconds. The answers were endless. There is always a new revelation of God, whether we know it or not. The Lord and His majesty never ends.
After I had gotten to the dirt road and the list started to get more complex and repetitive (I was tired), I heard God's sweet whisper again. "Now," He said, "remind yourself who you are." My eyes filled with tears as I said to myself, "I am the daughter of the King, I am the daughter of everything I just listed." That realization hit me. What if all girls knew that?
Lastly, I was telling him how unworthy I was to be his daughter and what I deserved, but God said, "All the things you just listed are yours too. That's what I bless you with. Grace, mercy, joy." That realization just shocked me. He said, "With Me, you are unstoppable." How amazing it would be if we all realized that. With Jesus, we have these gifts. While following God and obeying His perfect plan, we get to tap into the grace, mercy, joy, love, protection, confidence, and life that is just waiting on us. All of these things are here for us and we often forget who gives them, who we are, and that we can get them.
I pray tonight that whoever is reading this realizes that God's gifts are waiting on you. Remind yourself who God is. Remind yourself who you are (a daughter or son of the most hight God). Then, tap into those gifts so you can share them with others. You are amazing and God thought you were worthy enough for His love, that's why He sent Jesus. As long as you live, please do not forget that.
Here's a picture of me being confident because I know who my father is.
